Natrona County Jail Inmate Assaults Deputy By Spitting On Him
An inmate at the Natrona County jail was charged with misdemeanor assault of a detention officer after resisting deputies and spitting on one of them Saturday, according to an affidavit filed in Natrona County Circuit Court.
At 11:38 p.m. a deputy responded to a cell and saw two other deputies who took Jon Alexander Thompson to the ground.
Thompson, 29, was physically resisting the deputies by tensing his body and and twisting him self to try to free himself. One deputy held Thompson's legs, removed his boots, and rolled him to his side to perform a pat search.
A nurse was called to the cell and asked Thompson if he was allergic to anything, to which he responded, "'I allergic to these guys on me!'"
The nurse also asked if he was suicidal, and Thompson responded he was, so the deputies decided to place him in "The Wrap," a thick foam restraining garment.
A deputy tried to place an ankle strap on Thompson, who continued to be physically combative.
The deputies were able to put The Wrap on Thompson, and placed a soft safety helmet on his head.
Thompson cursed the deputies, and when one of them tried to pick him up, he spit on the deputy's face. A spit mask was put on Thompson's face, and he was placed in a restraint chair.
According to the jail roster, Thompson was arrested earlier Saturday for public intoxication.
