Firefighters contained and controlled a small fire on Casper Mountain by 10:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Natrona County Fire District.

The fire started Wednesday afternoon as a single-tree lightning strike at the end of Archery Range Road, the district said on social media.

Firefighters contained it to one-tenth of an acre, or about 4,300 square feet.

The Bureau of Land Management High Plains District and the Casper Mountain Fire District also responded to the fire.
