Casper Police, Fire-EMS Respond to Fight; Suspect Flees [VIDEO]
A man suspected of assaulting another man at a Casper home fled the scene Thursday evening.
Casper police and Fire-EMS responded to a home in the 1600 block of S. Jefferson St. The initial response involved Fire-EMS units staging in the area of 17th and Jefferson.
Sgt. Scott Jones of the Casper Police Department told reporters that the incident was first reported to police as a fight with firearms involved.
As officers responded and the victim was taken to Wyoming Medical Center, where detectives spoke with him, police learned that a gun was mentioned during the incident, but no firearms were ever actually involved.
Jones said the victim sustained a head wound. Sgt. Dan Dundas described that wound as not life-threatening.
The suspect, Jones said, is known to police and is on probation. Police have responded to the residence previously and have had previous interactions with the suspect.
Jones did not immediately have the suspect's name.
First responders began to clear the scene at roughly 6:20 p.m.
