One person suffered minor injuries in a stabbing which was reported early Friday morning, Casper police say.

Sgt. Joey Wilhelm told reporters during a news briefing Friday that the victim sought treatment at Wyoming Medical Center, and the stabbing was then reported to authorities. Police received that report shortly after 3 a.m., according to a police department incident summary.

Police have identified the suspect, Wilhelm said, but the suspect has not been taken into custody.  Wilhelm declined to release the names of the victim and suspect.

The crime occurred in the 100 BLock of South Forest, Wilhelm said. Police have recovered the weapon used in the stabbing, but Wilhelm declined to describe it.

Wilhelm told reporters there is no danger to the public in connection with the stabbing.

No further details have been released. The incident remains under investigation.
