Wyoming DCI Identifies Man Killed in Douglas Shooting
The man who was killed earlier this month in a shooting has been identified by authorities, and investigators say the death appears to have been an isolated incident.
Dustin Bruegger, 24, was found dead Feb. 3 in Douglas after officers and medical personnel were sent to the 200 block of North Second Street for a reported shooting.
In a statement issued Wednesday morning, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation said there is no continuing threat to the community of Douglas.
Bruegger's death is being investigated as a homicide, pending autopsy and forensic findings. Authorities said earlier this month that Bruegger had apparently suffered a single gunshot wound.
Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation's Casper office at 307-261-2194.
The Douglas Police Department, Wyoming DCI, Wyoming State Crime Laboratory, Converse County Sheriff's Office, Converse County Attorney's Office, Converse County Coroner's Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol have all assisted in the investigation.
