Wyoming DCI: Body ‘Dumped’ South of Cody, Suspect is Cheyenne Man
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation says a 45-year-old Cheyenne man is suspected of killing a person in Cheyenne, then dumping the body in a remote area south of Cody.
The victim has not been identified publicly, pending notification of family. Commander Matt Waldock did not name the suspect in a news release Monday afternoon.
A local hunter found the body shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday on private property south of Cody, near milepost 66, west of Highway 120.
DCI was called in to assist the Park County Sheriff's Office. Authorities identified a suspect, the Cheyenne resident, and that man was arrested on unrelated charges.
Waldock says investigators believe the victim was killed in Cheyenne. DCI agents are following up with law enforcement in Laramie County.
Further details have not been released.
