‘Vigilant’ Casper Police Officer Spots House Fire; One Badly Hurt
One person was badly hurt escaping from a house fire in Casper early Saturday. The unidentified person's injuries were not life-threatening, however.
Casper Fire-EMS units were dispatched to the in the 400 block of North Fairdale Ave. at roughly 12:40 a.m. Saturday, according to a Casper Fire written statement. A "vigilant" Casper police officer on patrol saw the blaze and called it in.
When firefighters made it to the home, there was significant fire.
Casper Fire-EMS says the occupant of the structure suffered severe injuries escaping from the home, but those injuries are not life-threatening. The occupant was taken by ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center.
The home has been declared uninhabitable due to excessive smoke and fire damage.
The incident is under investigation.
