The University of Wyoming Verismo Trio continues the spring Department of Music Faculty Recital Series Sunday, April 13, at 3 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature UW music professors Theresa Bogard, piano; Nicole Riner, flute; and J. Scott Turpen, saxophone.

The program will include world premieres of works written specifically for the group by American composers Jason Barabbas (Los Angeles), Dave Deason (Portland), and Ryan Jespersen (Connecticut), as well as an arrangement of a piano quartet created by the Croatian composer Ivan Bozecevic.

Additional music will include an arrangement of Debussy’s “Epigraphs Antiques” for two pianos and saxophonist Russell Peterson’s first trio.

Verismo Trio has performed on chamber music series and in music festivals across North America and in Brazil. The trio also contributed to the album “Jennifer Higdon: Chamber Music,” released by Albany Records in 2014.
