Summer fun can degenerate into summer foolishness if not worse, so watch your behavior while drinking, driving, boating and general recreating.

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and people can get careless.

So Natrona County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Steinberg has some tips for you.

"Be smart, be careful, everybody likes to go out and have a good time especially when the weather starts to warm up," Steinberg said.

Go ahead and party, but only to a point, he added. "Do it in moderation and have sober people with you to take care of the driving and the boating."

Because if you're not careful, you could run into trouble, Steinberg said.

"The sheriff's department and other agencies are going to be out in force this weekend, like we are on all other weekends with extra force  on holiday weekends to make sure that the general public is safe," he said.
