Thirty-four year old Ronald Ellis, has pleaded not guilty to one charge of battery and one charge of unlawful contact after trying to start a brawl with his room-mate.

According to Casper police, late Thursday night December 29th,  Ellis along with Scott Maestas had been drinking, and after they returned home, Maestas said that Ellis was becoming belligerent and was trying to start a fight.

Eventually Ellis rushed Maestas and tackled him, causing both men to fall down the stairs and then afterwards, Ellis put Maestas in a choke hold.

Maestas was eventually able to flee and called police.

Officers noticed cuts on Maestas, along with several holes in the living room and stairwell walls, that suggested a fight had occurred.

When interviewed by police, Ellis made sexually suggestive comments to one officer, then said he would fight that officer and another one.

Ellis's bond has been set at one-thousand dollars.

If convicted, he could face up to six months in a jail and a seven hundred and fifty dollar fine.
