According to Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd, there was a heavy police presence near South McKinley on Monday night after a call came in shortly before 11:00 p.m. regarding 'Shots Fired.'

"Multiple gunshots were reported as being fired into a residence in this area," Ladd stated. "Multiple officers responded and stayed on scene for several hours investigating the incident. Officers checked on several nearby residences as well as the residence that had been shot for potential injuries. As of this statement no injuries have been reported as a result of the gunfire."

Ladd said that officers processed the scene and collected statements from witnesses, but that no suspect has been determined, nor was any identifying information given.

Whoever did the shooting, whether it was one person or multiple, remains at large.

One witness who lived in the area stated that she has seen the car which housed the shooters driving around the area before they parked in front of the apartment building.

"I knew they couldn't be up to anything good," she stated. "When I got home and went inside, I called someone to tell them about the weird guys driving around. Not even 3 minutes later, I heard rapid gunfire."

The witness stated that she believed the car to be a silver or grey newer model Nissan, with darker, possibly tinted windows.

"They were definitely white guys," she stated. "I can't say 100% that it's the same car I saw in the area on Sunday, but I believe it is. And those guys were in their twenties and looked pretty 'normal.'

She continued, stating that "I heard there are bullet holes in the building's bedrooms and living rooms. Thank goodness it was so late at night. They shot at the front and back."

"The incident has been assigned to the CPD Investigative Services Unit and remains under active investigation," Ladd stated.
