These burglaries have taken place over a number of months.

"In the early stages of our investigation, investigators have determined that the suspect or suspects are opportunistic and are targeting unlocked vehicles," the NCSO wrote. "The suspect or suspects are approaching vehicles in driveways late at night, peering into them with the aid of a flashlight and attempting to enter through an unlocked door."

Of course, the best defense to this is to lock your doors, but even that may not stop opportunistic thieves.

"The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents of Bar Nunn who have recently become a victim of an auto burglary and have not yet reported it to make a report through dispatch at 307-235-9300," the NCSO wrote. "We also ask that you review any home and doorbell camera footage for suspicious activity around your home and property. If suspicious activity is found, please make a copy of the camera footage and contact Investigator Joe Wistisen at (307) 235-9282."

The sheriff's office did state that information can be reported anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Central Wyoming, by calling (307) 577-8477 or visiting the crime stoppers website. Information reported through Crime Stoppers that assists the investigation could yield a cash reward.
