Former Wyoming District Court Clerk Faces 6 Felony Theft Charges
The former district court clerk of Goshen County has been charged with six counts of felony theft following an investigation into the misuse of county funds.
Kathi Rickard could face up to 60 years in prison if convicted of the charges. The county will seek $120,217.65 in restitution due to the "extenuating circumstances involving loss of office funds," according to a statement Monday from Goshen County Attorney Eric R. Boyer.
The statement did not specify the amount Rickard is suspected of taking.
Boyer will not pursue the case. Instead, he has asked Lincoln County Attorney Spencer Allred to prosecute Rickard.
In January, the county asked state authorities to investigate the financial records of Rickard's office. That investigation has since concluded.
The alleged criminal conduct occurred between 2016 and 2018, according to Boyer's statement. Boyer's office did not release additional information Monday, citing the pending criminal case.
