Multiple improvements may be coming to First Street in Casper.

If approved, the over $100,000 engineering design services contract that will be before Casper City Council on Tuesday will act as a catalyst for several repairs and enhancements along the popular collector that funnels Beverly Street traffic into downtown.

The city is planning to spend roughly $1.6 million in one-cent funds to improve the street.

Specifically, the city is looking to replace manholes, several broken curb and gutter sections and 4,000 feet of old cast-iron water main. The city is also planning to do some general mill and overlay work and intersection ramp work.

Council will consider the contract during its regular session this Tuesday at 6 p.m.
