The Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public another opportunity to prevent prescription drug abuse.

On Saturday, April thirtieth, from ten a.m. to two p.m., the DEA and its partners will hold their second National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day at sites nationwide.

Jay Erickson is the Resident Agent in Charge for the DEA's Cheyenne field office.

Casper already has an anonymous prescription take back program in place that operates twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. In 2009, the Casper Police Department installed a large green deposit box in the department's lobby located at two-hundred North David Street.

Erickson says that flushing or throwing away old medications might be a good intention, but not a good idea.
