Casper Woman Arrested for DUI; Child Taken Into Protective Custody
A Casper woman was arrested Saturday evening after she allegedly drove while intoxicated with a 10-year-old child in the car.
Aimee Pauline Kidd, 36, was booked into jail on a recommended charges of driving under the influence with child endangerment.
Casper police officers responded to the area of 13th and Ash Streets shortly after 5 p.m. for a report of an intoxicated woman who left the Gaslight Social in a maroon Buick. A child was reported to have been in the vehicle at that time.
The woman who called police told officers that she had tried to stop Kidd from driving, but was unsuccessful.
Officers drove to a home in the 1900 Block of South Washington, where Kidd's boyfriend lives. There, they found the Buick still running in the driveway with Kidd in the driver's seat, talking on the phone, and a child in the front passenger seat.
Kidd allegedly smelled of alcohol and admitted that she had consumed beer at the Gaslight. Kidd performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
She was arrested, but officers did not handcuff her in front of the child. The Wyoming Department of Family Services responded and took the child into protective custody.
Kidd's blood-alcohol content was determined via a breath test to have been 0.17 percent.
Kidd's criminal history showed she was previously convicted of DUI in 2015.
