Casper police arrested a woman late Saturday after a traffic stop led officers to find methamphetamine paraphernalia inside the same vehicle as a five- or six-year-old child.

Sherri Grunwald, 53, was booked into jail on charges of meth possession, child endangerment with meth and an open container violation.

Charging papers say an officer stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe at Farnum and McKinley shortly before 9 p.m. after seeing the Tahoe had no passenger-side taillight.

The officer noticed the driver -- Grunwald -- was moving her hands a lot and speaking very quickly. A young child, either five or six years old, was in the backseat of the Tahoe.

Dispatch told the officer that Grunwald was on probation for meth possession, having been arrested back in April.

The officer asked for a drug dog to respond, and K9 Patrick ended up finding a methamphetamine pipe in Grunwald's purse. A search also allegedly turned up a small jeweler's baggie which contained meth residue.

A silver flask was also inside the purse. It allegedly contained an alcoholic beverage, and was open. A small, opened bottle of Potter's vodka was also found in Grunwald's purse, according to charging papers.

When asked whether any other drugs were inside the vehicle, Grunwald allegedly said there might be other controlled substances in the Tahoe. She reportedly said she had used meth about a week prior, and had already told her probation officer.

Police released the child to their mother, and the Tahoe was towed. Grunwald was arrested.
