The man arrested for allegedly shooting and seriously injuring a juvenile in Casper early Saturday was arrested following a house party, Casper police say.

Connor Goodman, 18, was arrested at about 7:45 a.m. Saturday. He is facing recommended charges of felony aggravated assault in the alleged incident.

According to a Casper Police Department press release, officers were called to the 3500 block of Big Horn Street at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found what seemed to be a house party with a mix of juveniles and young adults, an affidavit of probable cause says.

According to the affidavit, Goodman said he had drunk a 24-pack of beer throughout the night before the shooting.

A portable breathalyzer indicated a BAC of .028%. according to the affidavit.

Police also found the firearm Goodman allegedly used in the shooting with him, the release says.

The affidavit alleges a witness told police that Goodman was "acting tough" before the shooting and pulled out a semi-automatic pistol from his waistband. Goodman reportedly waved the pistol around and started saying things like, "no one can mess with me," according to the affidavit.

Goodman eventually put the gun away after being urged by someone else at the party, the affidavit says.

According to the affidavit, Goodman told police that he was going to show someone the gun when it fired.

Goodman eventually told police that, after the gun fired, he drove home before hiding the gun under his bed.

The victim was first taken to a local hospital before being flown to a hospital in Colorado. Police say the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Goodman should make his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.

A previous story misrepresented Goodman's BAC. It has been amended. We regret the error.
