Casper police arrested a man whose wife was arrested the previous day for having methamphetamine around children.

Dane Alan Garris was arrested Thursday afternoon on recommended charges of child endangerment with methamphetamine. His wife, Elaine Garris, was arrested on the same charge Wednesday.

An affidavit of probable cause alleges that Elaine Garris called Casper police to her and Dane Garris's home on Wednesday. Elaine Garris allegedly told police that she found the methamphetamine and that it belonged to Dane Garris.

However, the affidavit says, police learned that both Dane Garris and Elaine Garris knew about the methamphetamine, which was in a bathroom cabinet and easily accessible to children.

Speaking with police, Elaine Garris allegedly mentioned a date night in which the children living in the home were at their grandparents. Elaine Garris allegedly told police she and Dane Garris used methamphetamine that night.

Elaine Garris was arrested on Wednesday. Dane Garris was not home at the time of Elaine Garris's arrest.

Through the investigation Wednesday, officers discovered a series of text messages between Elaine and Dane Garris discussing "dope."

Thursday, an officer saw Dane Garris parked in the 500 block of South Poplar Street. The officer confronted Dane Garris and arrested him.
