Casper police arrested a local attorney Monday after he was allegedly seen driving in the wrong lane on East Second Street.

Todd Hambrick was arrested Monday afternoon on a recommended DUI charge.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a police officer was called to the 6300 block of East Second Street for a report of a drunk driver.

A deputy Natrona County Coroner called police and said he saw Hambrick driving a black Cadillac into traffic on East Second Street. Several cars had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid a collision, according to the affidavit.

At some point, Hambrick stopped the Cadillac and the deputy coroner got out to make sure Hambrick wasn't suffering from a medical emergency, the affidavit says.

When the officer arrived, Hambrick allegedly had trouble producing his driver's license and proof of insurance. The officer could smell alcohol coming from Hambrick.

Hambrick agreed to take a field sobriety test, which indicated he was too drunk to drive, according to the affidavit.

The officer asked Hambrick to take a one-leg stand test. When the officer told Hambrick he could start at any point he wanted, Hambrick allegedly became profane with the officer, according to the affidavit.

Hambrick was subsequently arrested for DUI.

The affidavit alleges Hambrick had a blood alcohol concentration of .183%, more than twice the legal limit to drive.

According to federal court documents, Hambrick was sentenced to unsupervised probation in federal court last month for a drunk driving offense that happened in Grand Teton National Park in June.

The affidavit lists Hambrick's occupation as being an attorney.
