Arrest Leads to Casper Police Search For Victims Of Theft
Casper police are looking for possible victims of theft in the wake of a burglary investigation and arrest. The items may have been stolen out of yards and sheds over the past week in the Fort Casper area.
Police say they arrested Shantel Marie Webb on Saturday, May 19th, for a residential burglary that occurred in the 1500 block of Custer Avenue. According to a police affidavit, Webb, who described herself as homeless and out of work, told police she had borrowed a truck from a friend and had driven around taking various items from different residences as well as entering one home. The truck, when located, contained a number of items in the truck bed, covered by a tarp.
Webb also allegedly took a 2004 Jeep Wrangler from the parking lot of an apartment building without the owners permission. It was later recovered with clothes, electronics, and other items that did not belong to the owner.
Webb was arrested on recommended charges of felony theft and burglary, according to a police affidavit. Police are asking if you live the Fort Casper Area and have had anything stolen from your residence in the last week, that you please contact the Casper Police Department at (307) 235-8278 and file a report.
