Tornado Warning Now in Effect for Platte, Goshen Counties
The National Weather Service office in Riverton has issued a tornado warning for Platte and Goshen counties at 3:08 p.m. Tuesday, and is scheduled to end at 5:21 p.m.
The tornado warning is upgraded from a tornado watch issued at 1:50 p.m.
With a tornado warning, the National Weather Service advises people to seek shelter on the lowest level of a sturdy structure, preferably in a basement, to stay away from windows, and put as many walls between you and the tornado as possible.
If you are in a mobile home or vehicle, move to the nearest shelter. If no shelter is available, lie flat in a nearby ditch and protect your head.
Never attempt to outrun a tornado, and do not seek shelter under a bridge or overpass.
