The Casper College basketball teams ended the regular season with a bang in front of a capacity house at the Swede Erickson Gym on Saturday with resounding wins over Sheridan College. The men's game featured two teams in the nations top 10 as Sheridan was ranked 5th and Casper 8th. The T-Birds ran away with this game 97-78 to improve to 28-2 on the year. Isaac Bonton had 20 points and Will Lakayi had 19. It was a solid win but Casper College did lose a coin toss after the game to determine who will host the Region IX Tournament. Sheridan won the toss so they'll be the site of this year's tourney. However, the first round games at the tournament will be at campus sites, so the Birds will host Gillette at 4pm on Saturday afternoon. The Casper College women's team finished the season with a big win over Sheridan on Saturday 77-42 to improve to 24-6. Lucie Hoskova had a remarkable game with 24 points on 10-12 from the field. Jaye Johnson chipped in 15. The T-Birds have a #1 seed in the Region IX tournament will host Northwest of Powell in the opening round on Friday at 6pm. The rest of the tournament will be hosted by Western Nebraska in Scottsbluff
