T-Bird Women Stay Alive in Region IX, Men Eliminated

The Casper College women's basketball team advanced to the semi-final round of the Region IX tournament at the Erickson Gym with a 75-60 win over Lamar, Colorado on Thursday night. The T-Birds had a first round bye and dominated Lamar in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Lopers 28-14. Casper was 6-29 from 3 point land and received 11 points from Ashlie Larson and 10 points from Natalia Panufnik. Casper is 29-2 and will meet Miles City, Montana in the semi's on Friday night at 7pm. The Casper College men lost in the 2nd round of the Region IX tournament in LaJunta, Colorado with an 86-77 defeat to #15 Otero. The Birds wrap up the season 23-10.
