The Casper College women's basketball is one win away from a trip the the Junior College National Tournament after a 60-56 win over Miles City, Montana in the semi-final round of the Region IX Tournament at the Erickson Gym. The Birds did this despite shooting 33% from the field and making just 5-27 3 point shots. But Casper was 13-16 from the free throw line and got 14 points from Ashlie Larson and 13 from Paula Orenes. The T-Birds will play rival Western Nebraska at 4pm on Saturday for the regional championship. The Cougars beat Northwest of Powell in the other semi-final 67-62. Casper College is 30-2 and ranked 13th in the country.
