November is Leaf Collection Month In Casper
With Fall upon us and folks out raking and bagging up the leaves, the City of Casper says they're helping out residents with leaf disposal. City officials say during the month of November, Casper residents that have city trash service can place their bagged leaves out for extra collection. You can place as many bags as you need to, there's no limit.
To make sure those bagged leaves are collected, residents should follow these guidelines:
- Curbside customers should place bagged leaves at the curb at least three feet from garbage containers, and not on sidewalks.
- Alley customers can put the bags behind their property in the alley.
- Customers should place bags out for pickup by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
Extra collection days are on either the first and third, or second and fourth trash days of the month. There will be some changes due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Thursday customers will have their trash collected on Friday, and Friday customers on Saturday.
If your extra collection day falls on that week, You can place your leaves on your delayed trash day. You can find your extra leaf collection day on the City’s website at www.casperwy.gov or by calling 307-235-8246.
By collecting fall leaves and yard waste separately, the City says they're able to make compost and save landfill space. Citizens of Casper can also take their own yard waste including grass, leaves, and branches, to the compost yard at the Solid Waste Facility free of charge. The Solid Waste Facility is located at 1886 Station Road, off Metro Road, and is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you have more questions or need more information, you can contact the Solid Waste Division at (307) 235-8246.
