The Casper City Council swore in one of its newest members Tuesday.

Retired mechanical engineer Bob Hopkins affirmed his oath of office at Tuesday’s council work session. Hopkins says he appreciates the opportunity to serve the city as a council member.

"I'll be looking forward to working with council - I've known several of the council for quite a while, (as well as) some of the people that have left, and I've worked with some of the city's staff on various projects around the city," Hopkins said. "Since I've retired, I just have time to do this, so I'll be glad to do it."

Hopkins represents Ward I. He currently serves on multiple boards, including the Natrona County Library Board and the Public Utilities Advisory Board.
