GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — An explosion at an oilfield site has closed a highway in northern Wyoming. Campbell County Sheriff's officials say the blast happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A dog is dead after apparently having been shot in its own backyard early Tuesday morning, and the Casper Police Department is investigating.

The Sheriff of Sweetwater County is asking for volunteers to assist in a search for a missing Rock Springs man who went hunting last week and has not returned.
