Cheyenne Man Jailed for Bank Robberies Now Facing Another Felony
The 34-year-old Cheyenne man currently being held on charges related to last Thursday's back-to-back bank robberies in the capital city is now facing another felony charge.

According to a booking sheet, inmate Eric Brian Smith, on Monday, "knowingly and willingly attempted to cause bodily injury to Corporal Cruz by attempting to bite his left hand."

Smith was subsequently charged with interference with a peace officer - bodily injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Smith is already facing five to 45 years in prison for aggravated robbery - deadly weapon, theft, and interference with a peace officer - bodily injury stemming from the robberies.
Smith's Bond Now at $110K Cash
Smith, who reportedly refused to appear in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday morning and again on Tuesday morning, was finally seen on his charges Wednesday morning.
Judge Antoinette Williams set bond in his new case at $10,000 cash, raising his total bond to $110,000 cash.

Smith is scheduled to be back in Circuit Court for his preliminary hearings on Aug. 7, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
