A long term down town development vision will take a step forward sometime next year with the placement of a traffic light at Poplar and Midwest. Its placement will allow signaled traffic flow across Poplar on to King Boulevard plus provide an eventual thoroughfare into the Old Yellowstone District to the east.

"We are just in the real infancy of design right now, but there is gonna be a signal installed, but it probably won't occur until late next spring or early next summer."  City of Casper Engineer, Andrew Beamer says the signal will be designed to work with the eventual widening of Poplar Street to five lanes by the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

Casper City Council allocated just under $44,000 dollars for the signal project earlier this month.
