SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say officers found evidence related to a 15-year-old Salt Lake girl's death at a Wyoming landfill.

Salt Lake Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer says 20 officers used rakes to search through garbage for evidence for up to 10 hours on Tuesday.

Shearer did not share what the officers found or what led them to the Uinta County landfill near Evanston in southwestern Wyoming.

Baleigh Bagshaw was killed May 7 after she arrived to her Salt Lake Home after school.

Police say the teen had been talking on the phone with her mom when she was attacked.

Police arrested a suspect in her death two days later in southeast Colorado.

Police would not say if the evidence is linked to the suspect who previously lived in Evanston.
