Casper City Council is scheduled to discuss proposed changes to the city of Casper's solid waste removal fees during a work session on Tuesday.

The city is proposing a five percent fee increase for several commercial and residential trash pick-up services, including on-call residential, commercial weekly collection and additional requested pickup.

The city is also proposing to raise roll-off container fees for city department, non-profit and commercial customers to $65 for container delivery and $185 for each collection. A fee of $3 per day will also be assessed, according to the proposal.

The city is also considering several changes to the price of products produced in the city's compost yard.

City officials say the changes are needed to make prices more competitive with local and regional companies that charge more for similar products and services.

City staffers are asking for the new fees to be in place by July 1. You can view the proposed fee schedule here.
