Casper City Council approved the new fee schedule for Hogadon Ski Area on Tuesday.

Under the agreement, adult season pass fees will increase $20 to $420 and youth season pass fees will increase $15 to $365. All-day lift ticket prices will also increase $2 to $42 for adults and $37 for youths, and half-day lift tickets will also increase $2 to $27.

Group all-day lift ticket prices will increase $2 to $32 per person.

Casper mayor Paul Meyer says the increases are needed to decrease the city’s user subsidy for Hogadon and to pay for needed improvements.

“Unless we have a spectacular snow year like we had a few years back, it’s really hard to turn a profit up there,” Meyer said. “But, we can trim that loss considerably with the steps we’ve made.”

Council passed the resolution 7-2 – Ward I’s Keith Goodenough and Ward III’s Kenyne Schlager were the two dissenting votes Tuesday. The new fee schedule will take effect prior to the start of the upcoming ski season.

Council on Tuesday also unanimously approved a $170,000 contract to re-line the retention pond at Hogadon.
