College Vaccine Bill Rejected
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A bill that would require most Wyoming college students get vaccinated against meningitis has died in the Senate.
Senate File 54 failed to get consideration on the Senate floor before a deadline last Friday.
The bill would have required meningitis vaccinations for students within 30 days of enrolling at the University of Wyoming and the state's community colleges.
A separate proposal to require students receiving Hathaway scholarships to perform some kind of volunteer community service in order to keep their scholarship money also died in the Senate.
