Casper Police Warn Of New “Canadian” Phone Scam

The Casper Police Department is warning of another scam making the rounds. The latest involves phone calls made to Casper residents from someone claiming to be with the Border Patrol of Canada. The caller tells the potential victim that their relative has been arrested for transporting drugs, and needs money for bail.

They then provide instructions on how to send money for bond, hoping someone sends a cash transfer to the scammer. Police say law enforcement agencies never call soliciting for bond money.
