Casper Police: Man in Custody After Stabbing, Motorcycle Wreck
One man was taken to Wyoming Medical Center with multiple stab wounds and another man was taken into police custody after a brief motorcycle chase Sunday in Casper.
The victim's medical condition could not immediately be released, Sgt. Dan Dundas told K2 Radio News at the scene of the arrest Sunday. There is no continuing danger to the public in connection with the incident, he added.
Police could not immediately release the names of the men involved.
The stabbing, Dundas said, occurred in the area of an apartment building in the 2400 Block of Grandview Place before 8 p.m. A suspect -- the man who was ultimately taken into custody -- was seen leaving the area on a blue motorcycle and was reported to police.
An officer who was driving in his patrol car heard a description of the suspect and vigilantly noticed a man on a blue motorcycle pass by. The officer turned around and followed the suspect, who then tried to get away.
However, Dundas said, the suspect wrecked his motorcycle in the area of 15th and Durbin. Based on the condition of the motorcycle, the crash did not appear to have been serious.
In addition to any charges which may stem from the stabbing itself, Dundas said that the man in custody could also face charges of eluding and interference with police. The suspect will be questioned before any formal charges are brought against him.
