A Casper man was arrested for allegedly giving police a false name and having marijuana after police found him trespassing in a hot tub.

Late Tuesday, Police arrested Alex T. Williams on recommended charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana and interference.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, police were called to the Preserve Apartments at 10:39 p.m. after someone reported a man and woman hopping the fence to get into the pool area. When they arrived, officers found Williams and a woman in the hot tub.

The affidavit says an officer asked Williams and the woman to get out of the hot tub.

"(An officer) noted neither person was wearing a swimsuit and both were in only undergarments," the affidavit says. "Both got dressed incredibly slowly then hopped the fence to talk with officers."

Police gave the woman a warning for trespassing and let her go.

Williams initially gave officers a false name, the affidavit alleges.

Eventually, Williams told officers his real name and said he lied because he had a warrant.

"Williams acknowledged he knew it was wrong to lie to officers about his identity," the affidavit says.

When police went into the pool area to make sure Williams and the woman didn't leave anything behind, officers allegedly found marijuana.

The affidavit says Williams said the marijuana wasn't his but he also assured officers it did not belong to the woman.
