Casper's solid waste service will offer extra collection days for leaves during November, according to a news release.

City residents with trash collection service can have their leaves hauled away if they follow these guidelines:

  • Put them in bags.
  • Curbside customers should place bagged leaves at the curb at least three feet from garbage containers.
  • Do not put the bags on sidewalks.
  • Alley customers should place the bags behind their property.
  • Place bags by 7 a.m. on the collection day.

The city will offer extra collection days either on the first and third or second and fourth trash days of the month.

Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Thursday customers will have their trash collected on Friday. Friday customers will have their trash collected on Saturday.

The city takes the leaves and other yard waste to the compost yard at the Casper Regional Landfill, 1886 Station Road, which saves landfill space. City trash customers also may take yard waste -- grass, leaves and branches -- for free to the compost yard, which is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents can find their extra leaf collection day on the city’s website, or by calling 235-8246.
