Casper College is looking for new Board member, after Matthew Loucks submitted his resignation as a member of the Casper College District Board of Trustees. College officials say Trustee Louck's resignation, which was effective June 21st, was due to his anticipated move to a residence outside of the district boundaries. Wyoming law requires that district governing board members reside and be registered voters in the districts they serve.
Trustee Loucks was elected to the Casper College District Board in 2012 and served as both treasurer and chairman. Casper College President Darren Divine said, "Trustee Loucks provided a valuable service to the college and community with his work on the Board of Trustees. We wish him well and appreciate all that he has accomplished."

The Casper College District Board is seeking applications from interested residents within the district's boundaries. Candidates to fill the seat must be 18 years of age or older, citizens of Wyoming, and residents and registered voters in Natrona County.

The appointed replacement position on the board of trustees will be an interim position, which means that person will serve until the next election in 2018. Then they may choose to run for election to fulfill the remainder of Trustee Louck's term for two years.

The deadline for submitting an application is 5 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017.
On Tuesday, July 18th, the board will interview candidates who have submitted completed applications, and meet the eligibility requirements. They'll then make an appointment in an open session.

If you're interested in being considered for the vacancy, you can send your response along with detailed information on your qualifications either by email to sandovalsuzanne@gmail.com, or by mail to Casper College District Board, ATTN: Trustee Suzanne Sandoval, 125 College Drive, Casper, WY 82601.
