Casper College team roping header Wheaton Williams from Sheridan, WY ascended to the #1 spot in the Central Rocky Mountain Region and T-Bird saddle bronc rider Lane Schuelke continued his dominance leading the region after the Lancer Rodeo hosted by Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington over the weekend. Casper's men won the event piling up 555 points. The Thunderbirds are coached by world champion team roper Jhett Johnson so much is expected at that end of the arena. Coach Johnson's squad has been bolstered by the addition of assistant coach Sandy Bob Forbes from Kaycee, WY and rough-stock cowboys, including Schuelke, transferring from Sheridan College during the winter. Canadian K's Thomson is another transfer from Sheridan. He rides both broncs and bulls and did so well in Torrington to help the T-Bird cause capturing the all-around title in the process. Schuelke was co-champ of the Lancer Rodeo with Houston Brown from Laramie County Community College.
