Officials with Casper College say enrollment is down slightly for the 2012 fall semester.

Vice president of student affairs at Casper College Joanna Anderson says, at the college’s 10-day census date, the school’s date of official record, head-count enrollment dipped three percent to 3,817 students. Anderson attributes this to a strong local economy and its counter-cyclical affect on the college's enrollment.

“Any time the local economy improves community college enrollment declines slightly,” Anderson said.

Anderson says the number of full-time equivalency students also dipped, this time down four percent, to 3,215 students.

Anderson also says campus residence halls are at 95 percent capacity.
