An Evansville man has been arrested on charges stemming from a weekend stabbing, and an attempted escape.

Thirty-three year-old Bradley Alford is facing one charge of aggravated assault and one charge of property destruction.

Evansville police say, on Sunday December 23rd, a friend of Alford's said he had been stabbed in the back with a knife.

Investigators say Alford admitted his role in the crime, and they later found a six inch knife with what appeared to be blood on the blade.

The friend also said that Alford had been smoking spice earlier and that was making him act crazy.

Alford was taken to the Natrona County Detention Center for aggravated assault, but then he became unruly and the nurse determined he needed to be taken to the Wyoming Medical Center for an evaluation.

During transport, Alford smashed out the rear passenger's window of the Evansville Police car with his head.

Officers were able to stop him from escaping.

He is being held on 10-thousand dollars bond awaiting trial...and could receive up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
