AFFIDAVIT: Casper Man Ran Up $3K With Company Credit Card
A Casper man is accused of making more than $3,000 in unauthorized purchases with a company credit card.
Walter Joseph Majko Jr. is accused of using company credit cards to purchase energy drinks, cigarettes and gas among other items.
He's charged with theft of $1,000 or more and could face up to 10 years behind bars if he's convicted.
Majko Jr. has not had an opportunity to enter pleas to the charges.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, the Natrona County Sheriff's Office began investigating Majko Jr. after the president of J&M Trucking contacted law enforcement and reported the purchases.
The affidavit states Majko Jr. was issued two company credit cards — one for hotel expenses and the other for fuel purchases.
Court documents states investigators learned that Majko Jr. utilized a credit card to purchase items such as cigarettes, energy drinks food and other items.
The purchases were made in February and March of 2019.
According to the affidavit, Majko Jr. "ultimately admitted" that he used the company-issued credit cards for personal use. However, he told an investigator that he figured he spent $1,500 on "personal stuff" and was unaware that he spent over $3,000 in unauthorized purchases.
