Yellowstone National Park Raises Fire Danger To ‘High’
Yellowstone National Park raised its fire danger index from "moderate" to "high" on Monday, according to a news release.
There are no fires in the park now, and smoke seen in the area probably is from fires west of the park.
However, the June Fire east of the park and about 35 miles west of Cody continues to burn and produce smoke just south of U.S. Highway 14/16/20. The fire is 28 percent contained and acres burned remain at 1,938.
Travelers along the highway are reminded to use caution while driving and be aware of fire vehicles and equipment.
Visit the multi-agency Inciweb website for information about fires in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.
And please use caution with fire in the park and elsewhere.
