Wyoming Man Receives 25-40 Years for Murder, Decapitation
CODY, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man has been sentenced to 25 to 40 years in prison for killing and dismembering a suspected drug dealer.
Pedro Garcia Jr. was sentenced Friday in the death of Juan Antonio Guerra-Torres.
Guerra-Torres' decapitated body was found in 2014 near the northwest Wyoming town of Clark. It took months for authorities to identify him.
Two co-defendants — John Marquez and Garcia's sister, Sandra Garcia — were sentenced earlier this year.
Sandra Garcia was accused of convincing Pedro Garcia to hire Marquez to kill the victim.
Marquez said he killed Guerra-Torres after Garcia told him the victim owed thousands of dollars to drug dealers who were threatening Sandra Garcia.
