Wyoming Man Killed, Another Injured in Head-on Crash Near Bill
A Rock Springs man died Sunday and another man was hospitalized after their vehicles collided head-on in Converse County.
Jesse Ray Wagner, 41, was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene, according to a statement from Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeremy Beck.
William Krieger Neuharth, 76, of Glendo, was wearing his seatbelt and was taken to Memorial Hospital of Converse County for medical treatment.
Driver fatigue on the part of Wagner is being investigated as a contributing factor, Beck said.
The crash occurred on Wyoming Highway 59 near milepost 37 north of Bill at roughly 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
Wagner was southbound in a 2000 Ford Taurus when he entered the northbound lane and hit Neuharth's 2015 Dodge Ram head-on, despite Neuharth's efforts to avoid a collision.
Wagner is the 21st person to die on Wyoming highways in 2019. That's compared to 11 deaths by this point last year, 10 deaths in 2017 and eight fatalities to date in 2016.
