A Casper woman arrested for prescription fraud had her initial appearance in court Thursday. Angelina Cook, 34, appeared before Circuit Court Judge Michael Huber to hear the charges against her, forgery and prescription fraud, both felonies.

According to police affidavit, Cook was said to have presented a prescription to the drive-through pharmacy at Walgreens. The pharmacist asked for identification to fill the prescription for Vicodin. The woman later identified as Cook said she would return with her driver's license.

The pharmacist notified police that it appeared the prescription had been altered to strengthen the content of Vicodin. Police made contact with Cook when she returned to fill the prescription. Police officers report that the prescription did appear to be altered with a different ink. Cook was taken into custody.

Cook was emotionally distraught during her court appearance, telling Judge Huber that she had not ever been in serious trouble before and that she was worried about her three children.

Judge Huber set Cook's bond at $2,500.
