A weekend crash in Natrona County claimed the lives of two teens and injured five others.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports 18-year-old Moeniqa Produit and 13-year-old Michell Allen, both from Kemmerer, died from injuries sustained in the crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 20/26 50 miles west of Casper, or roughly 1/2 mile east of the Waltman rest area.

Troopers say a pickup pulling a horse trailer jackknifed on the icy, snow-covered road, blocking a portion of the highway.

While slowing to avoid the incident, Produit lost control of her car, crossed the center line and struck an oncoming SUV carrying three adults and two young children.

Produit and Allen were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers were hospitalized.

The other passengers, from Riverton and Ft. Washakie, were treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
