Two Fundraisers Benefit Area Rancher In Need
Friends and neighbors, Tom and Rita Haygood and their children, Tom, Michelle, Kim and Wes, are 3rd and 4th generation ranchers in Bates Hole. A couple of weeks ago, Tom was diagnosed with a very serious illness and has been transferred to St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix AZ to wait for a lung transplant.
The community has banded together to help the Haygood family with medical and travel expenses. The Bates Hole Community, Alcova Community Foundation and the Wyoming Women in Ag are sponsoring two fundraising events that you won’t want to miss
The first one is a dance and auction that has been scheduled for Saturday, February 9 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm @ The Yellowstone Garage, 355 W. Yellowstone Hwy. A minimum donation of $10 per person admission is being asked.12 and under free. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the auction begins at 8:00pm
Auction items include, One day guided float trip from the North Platte Lodge, A four-person non-guided bird hunt provided by Crazy Rainbow, One on One roping clinic for 2, with World Champion Team Roper Jhett Johnson and Justin Johnson,
2 year old Red Roan Quarter Horse Stud Colt, papered, Cattle Hauling – 200 mile radius – by Wally Burnett, Two Saddles, ½ Beef, Hand Tooled Purse and Wallet, 2 ton of 3rd Cutting Alfalfa Hay, Handmade Wood Lamp, 204 Savage Rifle, Custom made Bit, Custom made knives, Butcher Lamb, Wyoming Whiskey, Remington model 700/270 Winchester Mag Rifle, Gift Certificates, Clinton Anderson DVD set, Saddle Pads, Saddle Pad signed by George Straight, Stained Glass, Head Stall and Bit, Rope baskets, jewelry, western art work, And much more!
The second event is the following weekend and features
An Evening of Cowboy Poetry and Music with Andy Nelson, Clear out West Radio Host and Trinity Seely
Saturday Feb 16th
Alcova School Gym
Doors open at 5:30pm
Spaghetti Supper at 6:00pm
Followed by stories, music and an auction of homemade baked goods
and other items
Minimum donation of $10 per person
12 and under free
Come if you can, to one or both events. It will be a lot of fun with a great group of people, to help out a really great, hardworking family.
