Trooper: Driver Fell Asleep, Causing Crash West of Mills
A driver was treated for minor injuries after falling asleep and causing a crash west of Mills early Wednesday, according to a state trooper.
Citations were issued in connection with the wreck, Trooper Daniel Adame told K2 Radio News.
The driver of a pickup truck was eastbound on US 20/26 near the Ghost Town Truck Stop and fell asleep at the wheel, Adame said, before colliding with the rear of a commercial tanker truck shortly before 6 a.m.
The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Adame said the pickup truck driver was headed to work when the crash occurred.
Traffic in the area was slowed for roughly an hour. Shortly before 7 a.m., troopers were preparing to clear the scene.
